Welcome to Word on Wednesday!
Today’s verse is one I am so glad God included in His Word!
I have found it to be true in my own life and more and more you hear stories of science realizing the truth of these words.
Proverbs 17:22 says “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Joy and laughter are wonderful expressions of a cheerful heart. I find that even in very challenging times, [tweet_dis]humor can be a welcome “relief valve”[/tweet_dis]. I often think of the pressure cooker my mom used to cook certain recipes when I was growing up. A lot of heat and pressure would build up inside of it in order for the food to cook faster. When it was time to turn it off, there was a valve on the top of the cooker to let out the pressure prior to opening the lid.
Sometimes during life’s difficulties, pressure seems to build up within us and a “relief valve” of humor can be quite helpful.
I pray that whatever you are facing that you will be able to find humor in the ordinary and that you will experience a deep refreshing.
